Muhanga District has been instrumental in uplifting its infrastructure. The following data shows how thw district is engaged in various infrastructural sectors.

1. Roads and Bridges

Nine bridges and 28 carvets were constructed on Cyakabiri-Nyabikenke-Ndusu road.

• A feasibility study for repairing Rugendabari-Nyabikenke-Ndusu road was done after introducing TIG on that similar road in order to be well repaired.
• Work on a feasibility study for construction of Nyabarongo bridge that will link the Nyabinoni Sector with Ngororero District
• Work on a feasibility study for construction of bridges on the road linking Nyarusange and Nyamabuye Sectors.
• Construction of new roads in various Sectors with a totaling 57km and repairing more 275km of existing ones including 2.5 km that was compressed with laterite.
• Repairing of Gitarama-Kabaya-Mukamira tarmac road

• Shyogwe and Nyarusange sector offices were provided with electricity.
• A contract to deliver electricity to the offices of Rugendabari sector and Misizi Abatoir was signed
• There is an offer for a tender to put in place solar energy power in 36 villages.
• Preparations are underway for the construction of a hydroelectric power dam on River Nyabarongo including the expropriation of property that would be destroyed in the process of construction.
• Four families were provided with solar energy to encourage other families to purchase thier own.

• Water was provided to shyogwe Sector offices.
• Water was provided to Misizi Abatoir.
• Muhabwa water pipeline in Rongi Sector was finished.
• Repairing of Matengo water pipeline in Rugendabari Sector has finished.
• Construction of 3 ECOSAN Public Toilets in Muhanga Town.
